A top selection from the Michelin Guide
Just a few months after its opening, Le Pavillon managed to enter the excellent list of the Michelin Guide, as a top gastronomic choice for Athens.
For the unique atmosphere of another era
Le Pavillon is housed in an authentic detached house in Chalandri in the 1940s, one of those that no longer exist as an architectural heritage site and was selected as the luxury gastronomic retreat of award-winning French chef Jean Charles Métayer. The space contains the essence of another era adapted to the requirements of modern design and gastronomy. The furniture is made of Greek oak wood and Dionysos gray marble, while the walls in the halls of the restaurant are decorated with works by the artist Mary Rousioti. The lush garden that embraces the house is open from Spring to Autumn.
For the menu of the award-winning chef Jean-Charles Métayer
Jean-Charles Métayer grew up in western France, in a restaurant family. He has lived in Greece for 20 years. Le Pavillon's menu represents everything that Jean-Charles Métayer gastronomically stands for. His passion for fish dominates and his love for the top ingredients, without many interventions and with the criterion of selection being seasonality, lead him to create a menu with a Mediterranean temperament and French techniques.
Information
Le Pavillon is the new restaurant of the multi-awarded chef Jean-Charles Métayer in Chalandri at 31 Perikleous Street. The all-white, original detached house, with the green garden, is now the "home" of the chef, which he created together with his friend and partner , businessman Angelos Kontaratos. An original single-family house in Chalandri from the 1940s, one of those that no longer exists as an architectural heritage, in an area accustomed to obeying the modernization movement of apartment buildings that overwhelm it, has been chosen as the new luxurious yet affordable culinary haven. The restaurant's 15 handmade tables were created from Greek oak wood and Dionysus gray marble, harmoniously marrying the two Greek materials, while the ornate reception table made of Tinian dark marble welcomes guests. Above the table was placed a modern minimal chandelier by the famous British designer Tom Dixon. The chandelier was chosen by chef Jean Charles Métayer himself, as it "reminds" him of his favorite kitchen tool, the fouet! The approach to the projects is made keeping in mind two points of reference, "modern nature" and the concept of "random". Le Pavillon's menu represents everything that Jean-Charles Métayer stands for culinary, the essence of his 20-year career in the top kitchens of Greece, France, Switzerland and England. In Le Pavillon they combine France and Greece but also the two seas, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean and create with hand, mind and heart, what the places, the elements and their wanderings have taught them. Book now at Le Pavillon in Chalandri easily and quickly and enjoy a unique Fine dining experience in the restaurant that is in the Michelin star guide!
