Information
In Greek Mythology, Estia is the goddess of the hearth, domestic life & family, who received the first offering in every household sacrifice, but had no public worship. In Roman mythology her near counterpart was Vesta, who personified the public hearth and whose worship bound the Romans to a form of extended family. Her name means: "home and hearth": The home and its inhabitants. Hestia symbolizes the alliance between the colonies and their mother cities and is the eldest daughter of Rhea and Saturn, sister of Zeus, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Demeter. He was originally part of the Twelve Olympians, but was later replaced by Dionysus. Then he tended the sacred fire on Olympus. Her altars encompassed every family hearth. Here in the heart of the Ancient City of Athens, a warm Hestia awaits you for genuine Greek food and drinks of yesterday and today.
