Akrogiali Taverna

Akro Giali in Kato Zakro ( Sitia) is a traditional taverna by the sea shore. the menu is full of Greek and Cretan traditional dishes based in old and tested recipes that lasted through time. The owners, Tania and Nikow Perrakis, are doing their best to create a unique and ideal  environment. The owners give high importance to the quality of materials. They are triyng to choose vegetables and meat of local produce in order to keep the top quality of their food. In Akro Giali you can also enjoy fresh fish of daily catch by the local fishermen. The olive oil used for cooking or drizzled over your salad is also of local produce and more precisely it is prodecued by the olive trees of the owner.  In Akro Giali you can enjoy freshly made food right after swimming and sunbathing under the hot sun! Last but not least,  during the summer, you can experience traditional marriages and christenings or other feasts that take place with traditional live music and dance up to the morning. This way is given the possibility to the visitor to know the hospitality and the local customs.
