With an elongated bar and kitchen along it, Brigante La Cucina del Quartiere shouts intimacy and neighborhood from the first moment. Then there is this quiet gallery that follows the interior of the store in color and hosts its tables. At peak hours, locals and employees of the surrounding companies informally make their appointment for coffee, panini with seals, cold cuts and cheeses, salads and of course porchetta, the Italian version of the piglet. This is Brigante, a modern trattoria hidden in a gallery in Syntagma. But the list does not end there: Italian pizza, delicious pasta and interesting dishes of the day are served by the chef and owner Costas Garyfallou, who worked for years in southern Italy. There he learned pizza with thin dough and fresh ingredients. Americano has tomato sauce, mozzarella, spianata & chili salami, all in the right amount. Their pasta is fresh and usually properly cooked, in Italian recipes, simply given. Nice ice cream, a few desserts and great choices in bottled wine.
