An underground gallery in Omonia or a rooftop overlooking the Acropolis in Syntagma? Stoa Fix Project Taratsa by Gogos Delogiannis is both. The chef who for the last two years "runs" her gastro-cafe below Aiolou, feeding us meatballs, trachanas and spicy pastas, decided this summer to take her friends, her partners and her ideas and take a "holiday" » on the roof of the Mosaikon hotel on Kolokotroni Street . There, with a view of the city and the sky, it offers a new summer food menu as well as a handful of neat cocktails, curated by Popi Sevastou. What is summer food for the chef? Her cooking continues to have references to tradition but here and there also uses elements from the cuisines of the world. Keeping up with the times, the menu is now a bit more fun, with more simple, snack-like dishes that are easy to share. It has grilled meatballs, with yogurt and handmade pita, it has savory donuts with tsalafouti, tomato chutney and Greek porkette cut into thin strips, but also crispy fried chicken with homemade cucumber pickles or spicy shrimp with vegetables, chili and lime. The roof is conceptually divided into two parts, the main "hall" and a small bench with four privileged seats overlooking the Acropolis. With the cool breeze blowing you will taste greens fried with cherry tomatoes, handmade cheese and carob paste, a cool salad with arugula, strawberries, string cheese and hazelnuts, well-fried oregano potatoes and fava beans that come with seared mackerel and a little grated roe. Among the freshest dishes in the new catalogue, the lemon pasta: bucatini with a delicate sauce of anchovies, tomato, lemon juice and parsley that comes sprinkled with crunchy, toasted almonds.
