At Nostimies tis Mary in Kypseli in the famous square of Agios Georgios, you will find delicious, homemade food every day. Dozens of pans are lined up in the glass case, filled with all kinds of food: kale and giants in the oven, pastitsio with enough béchamel, shoes and crispy chicken roll . Since 1994, when Mrs. Mary opened her kitchen to all of us, she is full of people and cosmopolitan. Mrs. Mary is known to everyone with her little one, perhaps because she is so smiling and open-hearted, you easily make friends with her, you exchange a word more than the usual ones. All this care of hers, however, is what finally comes out in her food. Homemade, lovingly cooked lentils, from the one that fills you with warmth and reminds you of your own mom. Mrs. Mary and her husband cook every day what they offer, while their three sons work in their family business. You will find from giants and chickpeas in the oven, to kale, cannelloni, the (dreamy) burgers we were talking about, fresh fish (there is always cod) and dishes of the hour - among them "the best liver in Athens!". Where Mary is not caught, however, is in the pies. Handmade, shaped into sticks, dedicated to those who love homemade leaf! Spinach cheese pies, cheese pies, mince pies and green pies to lick your fingers!
