Avli of Deukalion is the legendary tavern in Heraklion of Crete. Located in the square behind the Historical Museum of the city, the tavern has a tradition of over 20 years, since 1993, when Deucalion Markopoulos started this tavern always with the invaluable help of his wife, Mary. It offers local Cretan delicacies in an environment that travels you to old taverns of previous decades. During summer food is served outside in the garden, across the square of the museum.

All dishes are prepared with great care and attention, using quality raw materials. Additionally, you can ask for fresh prepared daily specials that are on the menu of the tavern. Do not forget to accompany your meal with the special salad Deucalion, while in the end you will have a rich dessert treat with the exquisite raki of Crete!
